Our Quotation

Our quotation excludes customs duties, inspections, parking fees, permits, tolls, or similar charges unless otherwise stated.

 Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the quotation does not include:

  • Delays or events outside our control.
  • Parking fees, congestion charges, or tolls.
  • Dismantling/reassembling furniture or fittings.
  • Disconnecting/reconnecting appliances.
  • Disposal/dumping of items.

 We reserve the right to adjust the quotation due to changes in inventory, timing, access restrictions, or unforeseen circumstances.

Work Excluded from Our Services

We will not:

  • Disconnect/reconnect appliances, fixtures, or fittings.
  • Move items from attics or lofts without safe access.
  • Dismantle or assemble items with specialist fittings unless pre-agreed.

Customer Responsibilities

You must:

  • Be present or represented throughout the move.
  • Provide accurate information about the items and access.
  • Arrange proper parking (within 20m of entrance); penalties or additional distance may incur charges.
  • Check the vehicle post-move to ensure nothing is left.
  • Notify us in advance of delays, restrictions, or changes.
  • Pay all fees (e.g., parking, tolls) unless otherwise agreed.
  • Provide a mobile contact number if absent.

Delays and Waiting Time

Waiting time due to customer delays is charged at £69 per hour per vehicle unless otherwise agreed.

Payment Terms

  • Payment is due before unloading or as otherwise agreed in writing.
  • We may withhold delivery until full payment is received.
  • Interest may be charged on overdue payments.
  • All removal payments must be paid before unloading.
  • Failure to pay will be pursued through all necessary methods and may affect insurance coverage.

Insurance & Liability

Basic liability is included, but insurance claims are void if:

  • Part/self-loading was performed.
  • Items were not professionally packed.
  • Payment was withheld or delayed.

Minor scratches or damage to veneered/flat-pack furniture may not be covered.

No compensation for damage will be paid if we have not undertaken the packaging.

Exclusions from Liability

We are not liable for:

  • Loss/damage to valuables (e.g., jewellery, phones, documents).
  • Loss due to acts of God, delays, or vermin infestation.
  • Items left behind due to lack of access or instruction.
  • Damage or loss in part/self-loading jobs.

Cancellations & Postponements

If you cancel/postpone within 48 hours of the job, a cancellation fee may apply.

Storage Terms

  • A forwarding address must be provided and updated in writing.
  • Our inventory list is final unless disputed within 14 days.
  • Storage fees are payable in advance; goods will not be released without full cleared payment.
  • We may increase rates with 21 days’ written notice.
  • We may require removal of stored goods with 34 days’ notice. Uncollected items may be sold to cover costs.
  • Termination: We will give 2 months’ notice to end storage. You must give 10 days’ notice ( 1 month fee applied if terminating contract).
  • If third parties collect items, our responsibility ends upon handover.

Our Right to Dispose/Sell

If fees are overdue and after giving 2 months notice, we may sell or dispose of stored goods. Costs will be deducted from proceeds, with any balance returned to you (no interest payable). Short-notice costs also chargeable.

Dangerous or Prohibited Items

We do not remove/store:

  • Explosives, flammables, gas cylinders, perishables.
  • Valuables (e.g., jewellery, money, watches, electronics).
  • Food, alcohol, tobacco, or items prone to infestation.
  • Animals or live creatures.
  • Goods likely to encourage vermin or infection.
  • Refrigerated or frozen food or drink.
  • Cars, boats, caravans.
  • Furs, perfumes, wines, spirits.

Working Conditions & Crew Policy

  • Crews take a 15-minute break every 3 hours.
  • We will not enter lofts or remove shoes.
  • No customer may travel in the removal vehicle.
  • Crews will not unplug gas/electrical items.
  • Layout or item placement in the property is your responsibility.
  • Special manufacturer-fitted items will not be dismantled/assembled.

Job Conditions

  • Estimated arrival times are subject to external factors.
  • Emergency overnight storage: Minimum £399 per vehicle plus redelivery.
  • Disposal charge: £179 per half tonne.
  • Late hours (unless agreed): After 5pm Mon–Fri: £27/person/hr; after 5pm Sat/Sun/Bank Holidays: £49/person/hr.
  • Extra charges may apply if loading/unloading is over 20m from entrance.
  • Job extensions beyond agreed time/dates will incur charges.
  • Waiting time requested by the customer: £69 per hour per vehicle.
  • Congestion charges will be passed to the customer.
  • Any minor damage/scratches may not be covered by insurance.
  • If customers delay, waiting charges apply.
  • Protective floor sheets must be laid by customers.

Right to Cancel or Refuse Service

We reserve the right to cancel or stop work due to:

  • Rude, abusive, or inappropriate customer behaviour.
  • Unsafe conditions, disputes, or unforeseen emergencies.

Disputes

If there is a dispute, either party may refer it to arbitration by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (subject to agreement). Costs at the arbitrator’s discretion. Does not affect the right to go to court.

Sub-Contracting

  • We may sub-contract any or all of the work.
  • These Terms still apply to any sub-contracted work.

Route and Method

  • We choose the method and route to carry out work.
  • Unless stated otherwise, space in vehicles/containers may be shared with other consignments.

International Moves

We provide guidance in good faith on international requirements, but you must verify with appropriate authorities.

Applicable Law

  • This agreement is governed by the law of the country where our contracting office is located.
  • This contract is subject to the laws of England and Wales if our principal place of business is in England or Wales, or to the laws of Scotland if based in Scotland.

Forwarding Address

  • You must provide a forwarding address and update us in writing. Notices are deemed received 7 days after posting.
  • If no address is provided, we may publish notices in a local newspaper. You cover any costs of tracing you.

Inventory & Receipts

Our inventory or receipt is binding unless you notify errors/omissions in writing within 10 days.

Additional Notices

  • Customer pays any parking fines, pay/display fees, tolls or congestion charges.
  • Customer is responsible for arranging parking at both ends.
  • We are not responsible for goods after leaving the property if left unattended.
  • Payment cannot be withheld due to claims or insurance disputes.
  • In case of late or non-payment, insurance is void and we may store goods and charge all related costs.

Jurisdiction & Agreement

These Terms & Conditions, together with our quotation, form the full agreement and supersede verbal arrangements. Any variation must be in writing. English law governs this contract unless otherwise stated stated as above.
